Short version: it's a joke with real math inside, and we don't collect your answers.

Entertainment and education only

When Will I Croak estimates how long people with answers like yours live on average. It is not medical, insurance, legal, or financial advice, and it is not a prediction about you. Don't make health, insurance, or money decisions based on it.

Your answers stay on your device

The calculation runs in your browser. Your name, age, height, weight, and other answers are not sent to us or anyone else, and they are gone when you close the page. If you start couples mode from your result, your answers move to that page inside your browser, and nowhere else. Sharing a link to your result only shares the year on your tombstone, never your answers.

If you share or save the tombstone image, it shows what you see on it: the name you typed, the two years, and the line underneath. The image is made on your device. It goes wherever you send it, and we never receive it.

Links, partners and ads

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a fee at no extra cost to you. These blocks are labeled "Paid partner." We never send your quiz answers or result to a partner; the links are the same for everyone. Partner links open in a new tab, and the partner's own privacy policy applies there.

The certificate

The certificate is a paid, three-page PDF: a certificate of estimated expiration, the odds year by year, and what one changed habit would add. It is a novelty and carries the same limits as the rest of the site. The pages are made on your device from your answers, and we never receive them. Payment is handled by Stripe, which gets your payment details and nothing about your quiz. Once paid for, the certificate stays unlocked in the browser you bought it in.

Email, only if you give it

If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address goes to our newsletter provider so they can send it. We use it for that newsletter and nothing else, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Signing up does not attach your quiz answers to your email.

Analytics

We count visits and which buttons get pressed (for example, share or partner links) to see what works. That data never includes your name, answers, or result.
